Hello everyone!
I know I haven’t written any travel content lately, which is about to change, but I had the pleasure of being interviewed for a podcast recently!
I’ve never been on a podcast before and as a journalist, I’m normally the one interviewing so this was a nice change.
To give some context I was asked by the creative producer of Regional Arts and Culture Council to speak about the Black Lives Matter protests as well as about being a black creative in Portland. This was largely due to a photo I posted at a peaceful protest that honored George Floyd and the countless other names that have died at police brutality (photo below).
I want to make it clear, black lives not only matter but they worth supporting, loving, and fighting for. We do not choose our skin color but we persevere regardless even when the world makes it clear that they are against us (Learn about systematic racism).
I want to thank everyone who has supported me, has donated, has protested, or has found their own way to help the cause. The battle has just become.
